Each turn consists of a few simple steps. First, you flip an event card, which introduces new enemies or moves existing ones closer to the goal. This system creates a very enjoyable team dynamic, as players constantly discuss who should go where and how to best utilize their options. Spinjitzu tornadoes also play a significant role here, determining the strength and speed of individual ninjas’ movements.

Additionally, you gradually acquire new abilities and gear that enhance your ninjas. Each character has their own set of ability cards, which begin to set them apart from the others. Some will be faster, others will better support teammates, or will be able to fight specific types of enemies more effectively. The game also features a system of adventures with varying difficulty levels that gradually introduce new situations and rules. Each game session thus feels like an episode of the NINJAGO® series, alternating between tense moments, teamwork, and lighthearted moments with the brand’s signature humor.
