Design the best subway system for a Japanese metropolis and become the top builder in the family game Příští stanice: Tokio (Next Station: Tokyo). In each of the four rounds, you’ll use a crayon to draw a new route based on the station cards that are flipped over and connect it to the existing loop line. Optimize transfer hubs, earn points for tourist stamps in outlying neighborhoods, and keep an eye on the strict building rules so your opponents don’t get ahead of you. The game offers fast-paced fun for 1 to 4 players ages 8 and up, which you can spice up with advanced mission modules and special effects.

Product detailed description

The city of Tokyo needs you to design and build a completely new, optimal subway network! In this fast-paced family game, your main task is to connect new lines as efficiently as possible to the existing green loop line, create strategic transfer stations, and collect as many points as possible for tourist stamps. Every decision counts, because space on the map is limited and the green central line comes with specific construction restrictions.

The game is played over 4 rounds, and in each round you draw a line on your map in the color of the crayon you currently hold. The game master gradually reveals station cards that determine which symbols you must connect with your routes. However, as soon as the fifth subway station card is turned over, the round ends immediately, and you must pass the crayon to your neighbor. By the end of the game, your map will be adorned with four colorful lines. You earn points based on the number of neighborhoods served, multiplied by the number of stations in the busiest one, for the transfer hubs you’ve built, and for tourist stamps from the outskirts of the city. Be careful, however, not to forget to connect the stations on the circular line to the network—otherwise, they’ll actually cost you points.

For experienced planners, Next Stop: Tokyo offers advanced rules that introduce two additional modules to the game—Common Tasks and Special Stations (symbol and effect cards)—which can be combined in any way you like. You can also connect these modules with other games in the series, such as Next Stop: London and Next Stop: Paris. If you don’t have any fellow players on hand, the game also includes a full-fledged solo variant in which you’ll try to impress the city council itself—or even the emperor.
