It's 1793. France is experiencing the terror of an absolutist regime and even the innocent are not safe from the Commission of Public Safety and their guillotine. In the midst of this political storm, one brave man decides to use wit and guile to fight the brutality - The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Along with his league of followers, he rescues the innocent from the clutches of the Commission, always leaving behind a card with a single flower, after which he is nicknamed. For the Englishman Sir Percy Blakeney, for the good of all, must not reveal his identity in order to continue saving the future of France.

In The Scarlet Pimpernel you take on the role of his helpers. You must complete 7 rescue missions, the last being the most important-getting the young Dauphin, heir to the French throne, to safety in Vienna.

Players take turns clockwise and can either join a mission or skip a round during their turn. Once all five mission squares have a die on them, the round ends and they move on to the actual mission. Play continues until all missions are completed.

The game is designed for 2-6 players ages 12 and up.
