To the south of the smoke-filled walls of Mur, an untamed forest stretches between two mountain ridges. Its namesake, an immortal monster called Gornat, has not been seen since human memory began, but even without it, the forest holds many dangers. Robbers and man-eating monsters roam the lands divided by rivers and mountains, and there are abandoned summer houses and mysterious ruins. Townsfolk rarely venture into the wilds, but in recent days three dignitaries have expressed interest in sponsoring a harrowing but lucrative expedition. Becoming servants of three lords may be too much for one adventure, but resourceful adventurers who are lucky enough to make it out of Gornat's Woods could... return (rich)!

Gornat's Grove is an adventure for characters at 3rd to 5th level in Old-School Essentials. Adventurers venture into a mysterious forest filled with remnants of ancient civilizations, strange inhabitants, and natural wonders.

Inspired by the classic gamebook In the Swamp of Scorpions, this module shows how structured wilderness adventures can be. It opts for a "pointcrawl" structure - more than 40 natural locations connected by paths, trails or waterways. In addition, some of these open into other sub-locations, several mini-dungeons and one larger adventure location (a villa with about 30 described locations).
