Fate is a cooperative game for 1-4 players who take the roles of talented but unexperienced heroes. Together, they defend Freyja’s well against trolls, the dead, and the fire horde monsters approaching from all sides of the game board.
The Knives of the Crone are fanatical believers in the creed of the prophetic goddess Morai-Heg, and they exist to serve fate’s will. They are led by the seer Kaerna Vix, who reads the viscera of slain foes to glean her deity’s desires. A cadre of killers ensure Vix’s visions come to pass – Tazari is Kaerna’s strong right hand, while Krieta eagerly butchers those who draw her master’s gaze....
Cursed Sepulchres are drenched in the energies of death – sites of necromantic potential where hundreds or even thousands of souls met their tragic end amidst violence and horror. Such areas are rich pickings for the Soulblight Gravelords. They contain bounteous quantities of desiccated flesh and yellowed bone ready to be transformed into undead soldiery or used to patch up damaged warriors.
The Soulblight Gravelords are surrounded by Shyishan magic, and they manifest its power with an almost instinctual ease. Great skeletal hands appear, swarms of bats materialise, and the dead spontaneously rise from their tombs.
Barrow Knights, the finest warriors of a Deathrattle kingdom, are granted a prestigious place at the side of their undead monarch. These skeletal cavaliers ride forth to conquer in the name of their liege, and rare are the warriors who can withstand their charge. Even if knocked from the saddle or shattered by cannonfire, these elite riders shall eventually rise again, for the oaths they have...
The Barrow Guard are a coterie of favoured praetorians, champions, and housecarls that accompany a Wight King. These are the elite footsoldiers of the Deathrattle legions, imbued with memories of loyalties pledged and oaths of eternal service. Some favour the traditional sword and shield of a monarch’s bodyguard, while others swing huge two-handed blades to carve foes in twain.
Prince Vhordrai is the most feared vampire cavalier in existence – the legendary castellan, and prisoner, of the Crimson Keep. When released from his cursed fortress to wage war against the living, Vhordrai rides forth atop the undead Draconith known as Shordemaire. This ancient beast spews gouts of pestilential breath that melt flesh and armour, before swooping in low so that its master can...
Deathrattle Skeletons clatter forward in formation, their yellowed skulls devoid of expression, intent on annihilating the living. Even if a skeletal warrior is smashed to pieces, the horror continues – with the battlefield steeped in necromantic energies, their bones will lock together once more as it clambers upright, ready to fight again.
The Soulblight Gravelords are vampiric tyrants who see mortals as little more than prey with which to sate their thirst for blood. They possess unnatural swiftness, inhuman strength, and an innate command of death magic. For all their might, these vampires are fated to serve the God of Death, Nagash. In his name, they raise teeming armies containing all manner of revenant horrors –...
