The artist and screenwriter Masamune Shirow is such an iconic figure that when the rights were purchased, it had to be agreed that even in the Czech comic book, the sound effects and notes he wrote would remain and would be translated separately. This is not just action-packed sci-fi. Shirow incorporated his own philosophy, theories about social problems, and the consequences of technological development into the manga. That is one of the reasons why both readers and creators seeking inspiration keep returning to Ghost in the Shell.
