Passion is the first of three planned expansions in The Great Facades series for the beautiful tile-laying game Sagrada, inspired by the stained glass windows of a Spanish cathedral.
Each expansion in The Great Facades series consists of several modules that can be added to the base game either individually or in any combination.
The Passion expansion contains three different modules:
- The Inspiration Module is based on inspiration cards that players receive at the very beginning of the game. The cards provide them with various specific abilities that they can use either once per round or once per game, depending on the nature of the card.
- The Rare Stained Glass module introduces a new type of cube to the game—rare transparent stained glass. The requirements for its placement are determined by the type of board, which is chosen at random. The transparent cube offers a whole range of possibilities. However, it must be used with caution, as only one such cube can be placed in a window at a time. This module also includes private goal cards.
- Finally, the last module focuses on public goals. These concentrate on window symmetry. Players earn points for vertical and horizontal symmetry (taking into account color and shade) and for repeating patterns (e.g., a 2x2 square).
Passion beautifully enriches the basic game. It brings a breath of fresh air to the game, adding a few degrees of difficulty—especially the fulfillment of public objectives, which is now anything but a piece of cake.
