Beyond the Edge is a thrilling cyberpunk strategy game that transports you to a dystopian future with its unique story. Control the characters on the game board and use your actions to complete objectives and collect evidence sets. Which side of the law will you end up on?
The year is 2087, and centralized governments have long since fallen. All that remains are small and fragmented city states, including New Dawn City, which is already on the brink of chaos. The Crime Syndicate is targeting these weakened cities, gradually taking control of the existing gangs and eventually taking over the entire city with their help. In Beyond the Edge, you'll become agents of a top-secret organisation dedicated to stopping the Syndicate. At any cost.
The Syndicate criminals' main strength is their cybernetic enhancements. And you have now discovered how to turn this weapon against them. With the help of an experimental program called "Hook", you can hack the microchips in the criminals' nervous systems and control them. Undercover, you go into the minds of criminals and, in an effort to penetrate as deeply as possible into the Syndicate's structure, you help them commit ever more heinous crimes. Only by doing so can you obtain enough evidence to foil the Syndicate's plan.
Each round, "hook" new criminals and manipulate their actions to your advantage. Plus, the longer you stay in a criminal's brain, the better you'll be able to control them - you might even control their special ability and increased physical stamina. Although your body is in a secret lab far from the action, you are far from safe. Living in the mind of a criminal takes a toll on your conscience.
Solve crimes, collect evidence, use every clue, but most importantly... try not to succumb to the weight of your own decisions and stay yourself. You must fight with all your might, or you will end up irretrievably Over the Edge.
The game is designed for 1-5 players aged 12 and up.
