London, 1851 - When Pierette, a daring acrobat performing at the Great Exhibition, saves mathematician Ada Lovelace from a gang of criminals, she becomes entangled in an ancient feud between the Assassins and the Templars. However, Lovelace is seriously ill and entrusts Pierette with her secrets, sending the acrobat to search for a dreadful weapon - the Engine of History - which she developed for a shadowy figure known as the "Mage".
