The Lord of the Rings: Confrontation is a new, modernized edition of the cult classic two-player strategy game by Reiner Knizia. This edition features a completely redesigned look, luxurious illustrations, and higher-quality components, making it a true collector's item.

One player leads the Fellowship of the Ring, while the other takes on the role of Sauron and his dark forces. Both sides have nine iconic characters with unique abilities and a clear direction of progression. The game map is divided into regions where players secretly deploy their units at the beginning of the game. The element of surprise and information management form the essence of the game.

As soon as characters from both sides meet in the same region, a battle ensues. This battle combines the strength of the characters, their special abilities, and secret combat card choices. This creates a tense, fast-paced, yet tactical clash that often determines the further course of the game. Each game is different thanks to the variability of deployment and how players work with their cards.

The Fellowship tries to get Frodo to Mount Doom. Sauron's forces, on the other hand, try to penetrate the Shire or destroy Frodo. Both sides have completely different victory conditions, which creates dynamic and asymmetrical clashes in which correct timing and the ability to read your opponent are decisive.
