In the game Pod hladinou: Velký bariérový útes, players will inhabit their own piece of the ocean.

Each round, they will select fish and pieces of coral or marine life and place them on their game board. In doing so, they will strive to fulfill the conditions on the corals and other tiles, which is often not entirely easy.

Stretching along the northeastern coast of Australia is the Great Barrier Reef, the largest coral reef system on the planet. This amazing underwater world, composed of nearly 3,000 individual reefs, forms the largest living structure visible from space. On your journey “under the surface,” you’ll encounter a variety of sea creatures that live on the Great Barrier Reef. These creatures are interconnected, and their survival and prosperity depend on their symbiosis. As you dive deeper, you’ll have the opportunity to transform the sea into a vibrant and thriving ecosystem by meeting the needs of these remarkable marine animals.

Pod hladinou is a strategic board game set in the Great Barrier Reef, where you select coral tiles and fish from the supply, assemble your “ocean” from them, and fulfill the conditions of the sea creatures. Once you meet the conditions, you complete the tiles, flip them over, and earn shells—a valuable currency for smart moves (refreshing the supply, freely combining a tile with a fish, moving an unfinished fish).

You earn points for completed corals and creatures, as well as for ecosystem cards, species diversity, and clever fish placement. Every game is different thanks to the choice of 10 out of 22 species of sea creatures and two ecosystem cards (orange and blue) that change the scoring priorities.

The game also offers a solo mode with a lionfish card, a family variant without ecosystem cards, and scenarios for challenges on long evenings. Visually appealing illustrations and a theme connecting the symbiosis of corals and fish make Under the Sea a clever yet accessible strategy game that rewards smart planning and tactical decision-making on every turn.
