Rozkvět železnice (Railway Boom) is a strategic auction game for 2 to 4 players in which you’ll travel back to a time of rapid development in Japan and become owners of railroad companies. You’ll build rail lines, connect cities, open new stations, and compete to see who can build the most successful transportation empire.

At the heart of the game are auctions that determine the players’ order of play in each phase of the round. In each phase, you’ll have to consider how much it’s worth sacrificing for a better position, an earlier pick, and more reliable access to important actions. Sometimes these actions involve acquiring new locomotives and cars; other times, they involve building tracks, developing technologies, or completing tasks.

In addition to building your rail network, you’ll develop your company using locomotives, railcars, and technology cards, which will grant you new abilities, bonuses, and additional ways to score points. Every decision carries weight here, and even a single track can determine who will become the greatest railroad magnate of their time.

Every Decision Comes at a Cost

At the heart of the game are auctions that determine the order of play in each phase of the round. You bid money, technology, and other resources, constantly weighing whether it’s worth paying more for a guaranteed benefit or saving for later.

Track Construction and Company Development

New stations open up further expansion opportunities; tracks connect cities and bring in valuable resources. In addition to building your network, you also develop your company using locomotives, railcars, and technology cards that add new abilities, bonuses, and paths to scoring.
