Product detailed description
Dewan is a fast-paced strategy game about placing camps, working with landscape cards, and completing story quests. It also offers team play and three changing scenarios.
Traveling through forests, mountains, and water zones presents players with exciting decisions, where each camp placement changes the landscape and your chances of victory. Dewan combines card play, movement planning, and personal pacing to draw you into the tribes' competition for points and survival.
Dewan is designed for anyone who enjoys light strategy, route planning, and fast-paced games with the ability to significantly influence their own outcome. It will be appreciated by groups of 2–4 players who want a fast-paced but thoughtful game with tactical choices. The recommended age starts at 10 years old, so even younger players with a penchant for map games can easily handle it. You should set aside about 40 minutes for one game, which makes Dewan an ideal choice for both family evenings and friendly games. You can look forward to exploring the landscape, collecting resources, and fine-tuning your camp's position, because every decision has a clear impact on your outcome.
Dewan invites you to a colorful and lively landscape full of contrasts, where each player tries to manage their tribe as best they can. You will traverse forests, wastelands, mountains, deserts, and water zones, gathering the resources you need to survive along the way. The main role is played by the correct placement of camps, which determine not only where you can go next, but also which parts of the story you can complete. Each camp changes the balance on the map and at the same time brings new opportunities to develop your plans.
The entire system is based on landscape cards, which you use to pay for your route. When crossing an opponent's camp, you must hand over the used card to them, which creates subtle but frequent situations that change the rhythm of the game. The cards you place under your board also develop your tribe — they provide new landscapes and additional resources. The way you cross water adds another layer to the game, as you can cross an entire water zone with a single card and gain a crucial advantage.
The main source of points are story tiles, which determine the combinations of landscapes and resources needed to complete them. You can complete each of them throughout the game, and the order doesn't matter — it's always about how cleverly you move your camps and use the available resources. At the end of each turn, you check your pieces and move the completed ones up to the tribe board, giving them an active value. Dewan thus creates a pleasant pace in which each move has a clear goal.
In addition to the classic game, Dewan also offers a team scenario for 2 vs. 2 play and three thematic variants that significantly change the map and your planning. Exploding Volcano, Heavy Rain, and Lake Village add new conditions, dynamic events, and other ways to earn points, so each game feels different.
- It offers a thoughtful but accessible strategy that requires clever planning of movement across a changing map and the ability to respond flexibly to your opponent's moves.
- Each camp location has real weight, as it changes your scoring options and creates situations that force your opponent to reevaluate their strategy and long-term approach.
- Story tiles give the game a clear direction and provide specific goals, keeping you motivated, informed, and satisfied as you complete tasks.
- The alternation between drawing cards and placing camps creates a smooth rhythm that keeps players active while allowing them to develop their own plans without unnecessary delays.
- Interaction between players arises naturally, especially when crossing opponents' camps and competing for zones, creating tense moments and interesting choices.
- Sliding landscape cards introduce a development system that expands your tribe's options while maintaining the simplicity and clarity of the game rules.
- The dynamic map changes its appearance every round, whether due to opponents or scenarios, which leads to constant thinking about new routes and approaches.
- A wide range of scenarios expands the base game with new challenges and situations that promote replayability and add unique variability to the game.
- The fast pace and clear rules make the game accessible even to less experienced players, yet it offers plenty of room for tactical decision-making and gradual improvement.
- The atmosphere of wandering through the unknown is supported by illustrations and the logic of the rules, which creates a pleasant impression of each game and motivates players to try different approaches.
